One of the first things I did in Bali, was get meself a cacao pod, and sprout some cacao seeds. Watching these babies grew delighted me every morning. As far as I know, at least two babies are now firm, strong trees.
The seeds inside the pod are covered in thick white gelatinous gloup. It’s sweet and edible.
For a Londoner, to see tropical seeds take life, was the ultimate in exotic. I came, I saw, I sprouted 🙂
