Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: August 2026

I believe privacy should be straightforward. This page explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how I use it, and the choices you have.

Who I am

This website is operated by Suki Zoë.

I am a photographer, artist and energy healer, and I also create Oracles with Suki Zoe, a podcast exploring conversations, ideas and the mysterious business of being human.

If you have any questions about how I use your personal information, please email me at: me@sukizoe.com

What information I collect

I only collect information that I need for the particular interaction you have with me.

If you contact me

If you email me, I will receive your email address, name if provided, and anything you choose to include in your message.

If you enquire about or book photography

I may collect your name, contact details, photography requirements, date and location, and information needed to organise and deliver your photography commission. I may also retain relevant correspondence, booking information, invoices and payment records.

If you book a healing session

I may collect your name and contact details and information necessary to arrange your session and communicate with you. Healing conversations can sometimes involve deeply personal information. Please don't send sensitive medical or other personal information by ordinary email unless it is genuinely necessary.

If you subscribe to my infrequent missives

I collect your name and email address and your subscription preferences. Your newsletter subscription is managed through Mailchimp.

If you visit my website

My website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace may collect technical information about your visit, including information about your device, browser, IP address and how you interact with the website. I also use Squarespace Analytics to understand how people use my website and which pages are of interest.

How I use your information

I use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries;

  • provide photography services;

  • arrange and deliver photography commissions;

  • arrange healing sessions;

  • process payments;

  • communicate with clients;

  • send my email newsletter where you have chosen to receive it;

  • understand how people use my website and improve it;

  • maintain appropriate business, financial and legal records; and

  • protect my website and business from misuse.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

My lawful basis for using your information

Depending on the circumstances, I rely on the following lawful bases under UK data protection law:

Contract — where I need your information to provide a service you have booked.

Legitimate interests — for example, responding to enquiries, running my business and maintaining appropriate client records.

Consent — where you have actively chosen to receive marketing communications or consented to non-essential cookies.

Legal obligation — where I need to retain information to comply with legal, accounting or other regulatory requirements.

Who I share your information with

I don't sell your personal information. I use a small number of trusted services to run my business:

Squarespace

My website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace processes information associated with visitors to and users of my website.

Mailchimp

I use Mailchimp to send my infrequent missives. If you subscribe, your name and email address are stored and processed by Mailchimp so that I can send you the emails you have requested. Mailchimp provides tools for managing consent and unsubscribing from marketing communications.

Stripe

I use Stripe to process payments. Payment links take you to Stripe rather than collecting your payment card details directly through this website. Stripe may process information such as your name, email address, billing information, payment details, transaction amount and payment status in order to process the transaction, prevent fraud and provide payment services. I do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Other professional services

I may share relevant information with professional advisers such as an accountant where reasonably necessary, or where I am legally required to do so.

Photography & photographs

Photography involves personal information in a slightly different way because photographs of identifiable people can themselves constitute personal data. I retain copyright in photographs I create unless otherwise agreed in writing. If you commission me to photograph you, your family, your wedding or your business, I will retain the photographs as part of my professional records and to provide the photography service. I may also wish to use selected photographs in my portfolio, on my website, social media, exhibitions, competitions or other promotional material. I will only use identifiable photographs of you for these purposes where you have given me permission to do so. The relevant permission will be included in your photography agreement.

Healing & personal information

Healing sessions can sometimes involve very personal conversations. I will treat what you share with care and respect and will only use information for purposes connected with providing and managing your session. Some information relating to health, beliefs or other sensitive matters may constitute special category personal data under UK data protection law. For this reason, I don't ask you to provide extensive personal or medical information through my website. If you choose to share sensitive information with me during a session, I will handle it appropriately and retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary.

Infrequent missives

If you subscribe to my emails, I will use your email address to send you the communications you've asked to receive. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any Mailchimp email, or by contacting me directly. I won't sell your email address or add you to unrelated marketing lists. Mailchimp operates opt-in tools and provides mechanisms for subscribers to manage their information and unsubscribe.

Cookies & analytics

My website uses some cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the website to function properly. Others, such as analytics technologies, are not essential to the functioning of the website. I use Squarespace Analytics to understand how visitors use my website. Where required, I will obtain your consent before using non-essential analytics cookies or similar technologies. UK guidance states that analytics cookies are not exempt from the consent requirement simply because they are used for anonymous or statistical purposes. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Please be aware that blocking essential cookies may affect the way the website functions.

How long I keep your information

I don't keep personal information indefinitely. I retain information for as long as I reasonably need it for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining business records and meeting legal or accounting obligations.

Generally:

  • Enquiries: for as long as necessary to deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.

  • Photography client information: for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the client relationship and meet legal, accounting or insurance requirements.

  • Financial records: for the period required by applicable tax and accounting rules.

  • Newsletter information: until you unsubscribe, subject to keeping minimal information where necessary to ensure that we don't accidentally send you future marketing.

  • Photographs: according to the terms of the photography agreement and my professional record-keeping practices.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to:

  • ask what personal information I hold about you;

  • ask me to correct inaccurate information;

  • ask me to delete information where there is no good reason for me to continue holding it;

  • ask me to restrict how I use your information in certain circumstances;

  • object to certain uses of your information;

  • withdraw consent where I rely on consent; and

  • request a copy of certain personal information.

These rights don't apply in exactly the same way in every circumstance.

If you'd like to exercise one of your rights, please email me at: me@sukizoe.com

If you have a concern

If you have any concerns about how I have handled your personal information, please contact me first and I'll do my best to resolve the matter.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

I may occasionally update this Privacy & Cookies page if my services, website or the way I use personal information changes.

The latest version will always be available on this website.
